A LOVE WORTH GIVING

These are devastating times: 1.75 billion people are desperately poor, 1 billion are hungry, millions are trafficked in slavery, and pandemic diseases are gouging entire nations. Every year nearly 2 million children are exploited in the global commercial sex trade. And in the 4-5 minutes it took you to read this post, almost ninety died of preventable diseases . More than half of all Africans do not have access to modern health facilities. As a result, 10 million of them die each year from diarrhoea, acute respiratory illness, malaria and measles. Many of those deaths could be prevented by one shot. Yet in the midst of the wreakage, here we stand, the modern day version of the Jerusalem church. You, me, and our one-of-a-kind life times and once-in-history opportunity . Ours is the wealthiest generation of the Christians ever. We are bright, educated, and experienced. We can travel the world in twenty four hours or send a message to someone at the othe

BREAKING THROUGH THAT HABIT

So I stumbled on this piece of his and I believe it will bless you too. I don't do this often though  (but it pleases him aswell for you to hear this).  Well, here you go: "Trying to break that HABIT through SELF?? News flash. It Never works! Self can't cure self. You need to sink in the Love of Christ for you, You need to acknowledge the gift of no condemnation in CHRIST, because condemnation brings you into an endless-circle. You need to see in that your down moment, when you beat yourself in regrets and curses, HIS LOVE FOR YOU: NEVER FAILS, NEVER GOES UP, NEVER COMES DOWN, But that He loves you the way you are. YET, loves you so much to let you remain the way you are! What should I do now? You may ask. GIVE UP. Yes, GIVE UP YOUR EFFORTS, to stop. You've been thinking He has been so disappointed in you, I have goodnews for you, "But God demonstrated His OWN LOVE for us in this: while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Roma

LIFE IS RACING BY

By the time you knew what to call it, you were neck deep in it. You’d toddler-walked and talked, smelled crayons and swung bats, gurgled and giggled your way out of diapers and into childhood. You’d noticed how guys aren’t gals and dogs aren’t cats and pizza sure beats spinach. And then, somewhere in the midst of it all, it hits you. At your grandpa’s funeral or staring right in the face of the aftermath of a mistake you made perhaps. Maybe when you waved good-bye as your big brother or sister left for the university or to their new home with their spouses. Then you realise. You realized that these days are more than ice cream trips, homework, and pimples. This is called life. And this one is yours. Complete with summers and songs and gray skies and tears, you have a life. Didn’t request one, but you have one. A first day. A final day. And a few thousand in between. You’ve been given an honest-to-goodness human life. You’ve been given your life. No one else has your versio

What You Probably Thought You Knew

"LOVE thy Neighbour" LOVE thy   Muslim neighbour LOVE thy   disabled neighbour LOVE thy   immigrant neighbour LOVE thy   addicted neighbour LOVE thy   atheist neighbour LOVE thy   inconsiderate neighbour LOVE thy   black neighbour LOVE thy   so-called heartless neighbour LOVE thy   selfish neighbour LOVE thy   ungrateful neighbour LOVE thy   insultive/abusive neighbour LOVE thy   deceitful neighbour LOVE thy   self-righteous neighbour LOVE thy   gossipful neighbour.                     No Exceptions! It's pretty basic, but its something we all  need to remind ourselves of, not just "sometimes" but "everytime" -- as you walk down the street, run errands, drive on the highway, walk into a grocery store or mall...etc. It's the commandment of  Love . We often hastily quote the first few words of this verse of scripture just to focus mainly on the ending part without taking into cognisance the preamble and building

WHAT DO WE SEE?

A gate called Beautiful. The man was anything but. He couldn’t walk on his feet but had to be dragged on his knees. He passed his days among the contingent of real and pretend beggars who coveted the coins of the worshippers entering Solomon’s court. And these guys were among them--Pete and John. The needy man saw them and begged for money. They had none to give, yet they stopped . I spent a very significant fraction of my time pondering on this. “Why did they stop?!” I asked. Let’s Progress and see. Peter and his buddy John looked straight at him and said, ‘Look at us!’ They locked their eyes on his with such compassion that “he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them”. Pete and John issued no embarrassed glance, irritated shrug, or cynical dismissal but an honest look. It is hard to look suffering in the face. Wouldn’t we rather turn away? Stare in a different direction? Fix our gaze on fairer objects? We give ourselves the excuse that ‘we C

IN YOUR DARKEST MOMENTS

And the bible says, “…at the fourth watch” (according to the Romans, it’s the time spanning from 3am – 6am) of the night, which is the darkest time. They say “darkest before dawn”-that’s the fourth watch. In the darkest period , “…he looked down and he saw them, he saw his disciples rowing against the wind”. It actually says “a strong wind was blowing - boisterous.” Stay with me… And Jesus came walking on water... (How cool is that!) *wind blowing* *his hair flustering in the wind, his clothes as well* Try to picture this scene. And don’t forget, it was in “the darkest time” Progress is hard without Jesus , it’s like 3 steps forward and 2 steps backward, it’s SLOW. If you don’t have Jesus on your boat. And the bible says “and the disciples looked and they saw him”, whoa what’s that??! IT’S A GHOST! They said. And Jesus’ answer was, in the Greek “I AM”. THAT’S the name of God. “Don’t be afraid, I AM”. And straight away Peter (who else?) said Lord, if it’s you, “BID ME

You are the captain of your ship. Your mind is your crew, your body is your ship.

YOU ARE THE CAPTAIN OF YOUR SHIP One thing I came to realize in life is that 80% of the things happening in our lifes (today) are brought about by our decisions, mindset, actions and beliefs.           Its All About You! I mean you can be multi-talented but its up to you to decide whether or not to put your talents to work. God 'll never force you to put to work the talents and gifts he has deposited inside you - what he does is to instruct and guide you on how you should go about it. Its up to you to summon the courage to pursue your dreams, run towards your goals and aspirations regardless of the trials, the disappointments, the denial, the set-backs, the delays, the stumbling blocks and the difficulties you face, no matter how far-fetched they might seem. Its up to you to say "Its possible" when everyone else try to talk you out telling you" Its not". Its up to you to believe in yourself when everyone else thinks you are a loser... It
